The Teatro Salvador Távora was inaugurated on the 14 of March 2007. It is managed by La Cuadra de Sevilla, a company that was founded in February of 1971 by the initiative of Salvador Távora. Since then La Cuadra has presented 21 productions in 35 countries, all created by Salvador Távora, resulting in more than 4000 performances.
Located in the industrial area of the Polígono Hytasa, in the district of the Cerro del Águila, the Theater is a unique venue in which we want to present a live and real art thanks to the proximity of the spectators. The aim of the Theater is to stage productions that have Andalusian roots in all the aspects, to extend the Sevillan cultural frame with a new scenery, and at the same time reveal how flamenco, dealt with the seriousness and rigor that its history demands, becomes a surprisingly powerful element of communication.
Presently the Theatre's main activity is promoting La Cuadra de Sevilla's productions. Currently the last creation of Salvador Távora for the Cuadra de Sevilla is : “Flamenco para Traviata”, based on fragments of Verdi's La Traviata opera.
